Better Lovers Unleash New Single “The Flowering”

The group’s upcoming world tour kicks off on April 18 in Indiana

Better Lovers [Andrew McEnany]

Better Lovers are back with a brand new single, “The Flowering.” The track is a taste of the band’s highly anticipated debut album. The band returned to the studio back in January to complete the record, which is due out soon through SharpTone Records. Stream the official music video below, directed by Anthony Altamura.

“’The Flowering’ is a song we’ve been playing live since day one,” Greg Puciato explains. “It came from the same batch as the God Made Me An Animal EP, so it’s nice to finally have it recorded and out there. It’s a perfect example of how Jordan, Mitch, Goose, and Will playing together sounds like an absolute freight train. Being able to play this live so many times before recording it really amplified that even more, really deepened the groove of it, the music swings so fucking hard. Not to mention the video is one of my favorite videos I’ve ever been a part of. The title and lyrics are an obvious metaphor for realizing that we are all more than what we’re conditioned to believe, and acknowledging the collective ‘waking up’ moment that we all seem to be going through right now.”

The band’s upcoming tour kicks off on April 18 at Deluxe at Old National Centre in Indianapolis, Indiana. SeeYouSpaceCowboy, Foreign Hands and Greyhaven open on all North American headlining shows between April 18 and May 16. Black Coast and Unpeople open all of the band’s European headlining shows. The trek also features performances at Sick New World (U.S.), Louder Than Life (U.S.), Aftershock (U.S.), Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium), Tons of Rock (Norway), Furnace Fest (U.S.), and more. Check out the full tour itinerary below.

Better Lovers is Jordan Buckley, Clayton “Goose” Holyoak, Stephen Micciche, Greg Puciato and Will Putney. The band, which features former members of Every Time I Die, Fit For An Autopsy and The Dillinger Escape Plan, released their debut single “30 Under 13” in April of 2023, followed by the four-song God Made Me An Animal EP in July. In December they launched an annual holiday event, BLissmas, played annually in Buffalo, N.Y., with the inaugural event, spread over two nights, sold out upon on-sale.
